Near US Highway 89 in southern Utah is an area called White Rocks. It is located on BLM land, and is almost completely barren due to the limited rainfall, arid air, and roaming cattle --- The cattle eat up whatever small bit of foliage that dares grow in this inhospitable climate. Notwithstanding the remoteness and bleak plateau, if you wander to the edge of the plateau, you will find this majestic view!
Due to the high contrast in varying terrain textures, I decided to make this one in black and white. And thanks to fellow photographer Dustin LeFevre, who volunteered to model, I was able to show scale to this majestic place!
