The Slot

"The Slot." Exploring slot canyons is one of my fascinations, particularly when it is not raining (I hope you catch the humor in that statement). On this day, I traveled with my son to visit a few remote slots. The day was sunny, creating a harsh balance of light between the highlights and deep shadows; yet notwithstanding the difficult lighting situations, the full sunshine permitted a nice array of warm tones. The slot we first visited was not a disappointment, and was rather pleased with nature's lines from this perspective.
