As far back as I recall, I yearned to visit a lake in the Uinta National Forest. Finally I was able to make a special trip to visit this particular gem with my wife and fellow photographer, Steve Howa. Upon reaching the pre-determined destination, light was not on our side, and actually quite flat and boring. As a result we decided to wander around. We came upon a small meadow and our attention was grabbed by a few lupine plants growing up on a hill. I climbed up, and as I reached them, the sun began shining through, providing an extraordinary backlight to the otherwise beautiful plants.
