The Cottonwood Canyons of northern Utah hide so many surprises. One surprise, Cecret Lake, is a short hike, about a mile, from the parking lot. During winter this lake is completely covered in snow, but in the spring, summer, and fall it makes an incredible destination. I captured this shot one evening at the beginning autumn's official entry in 2013. Light was fairly even for this one, and just a few minutes later it exploded to an incredible warm glow!
