Moab Skies

Although it is brisk in winter, views such as this are worth the effort. This capture shows night skies near Moab, Utah, showing varying colors and dramatic light from the Milky Way, millions of stars, and nearby "development" lights. There is a horizontal layer of clouds, adding to the shadows and deep color near the horizon. I love capturing silhouettes, especially when the detail can be shown against a colorful scene such as this one.
