The Bend

"The Bend." Scotland, United Kingdom. I passed by a massive waterfall along the highway several times. Twice I stopped to capture the prominent feature. Each visit I received a prompting to explore further upstream, but did not follow-through with the thoughts. Finally, on the last day of my Scotland visit, I followed my previous instincts, and explored upstream. As I began the trek I came across this beautiful river bend, at the top of the falls. The bend was situated in a perilous location -- just one slip into the water and the flow would quickly carry me over the massive rock-laden waterfall. I positioned myself and my gear carefully, and setup for this wide-angle perspective. I took a moment to breathe in the experience, then began creating. The combination of mountains, autumn color, and the flow of water create magical imagery.
