Each winter Cedar Breaks National Monument becomes impassable to automobiles, and therefore I scampered to southern Utah in order to capture a fall scene before snow settled. A fall storm had just dissipated, creating an opportunity for the light to explode on the underside of the distant overcast sky. It was my lucky day, as the sun crept out, casting its rays over the moist ground, creating highlights all around (not to mention the rainbow right over my head). The colors were incredible!
