The Plan

"The Plan." Of the many beauties in Canada, the national parks are a highlight. I only had a single afternoon to capture this lake scene, and really only a couple hours. I focused my energy on this perspective. I loved the naturally-curved pine tree as a frame. I loved the simplicity of the scene. I loved the contrast between the smooth water and textured foreground. Then there was that sun -- It was so bright and took over the scene -- I dealt with it by taking advantage of its position, and chose a narrower aperture to exaggerate the rays. The plan came together nicely.
