I visited Great Smoky Mountains during the 2014 fall season. The trip was prepared months in advance with specific dates in mind. I had grand plans to capture the vast vistas located throughout the Smokies; however overcast skies, fog, and rain plagued the entire visit. On one day, the sky opened just enough to catch glimpses of distant hillsides, enough to capture some scenes. While standing atop the mountain, I walked over to the North Carolina side of the mountain, and caught a glimpse of a winding road down below. Notwithstanding the rain, I took the risk of changing lenses, and zoomed in to this scene!
