On an autumn morning, my wife and I drove up the Dalton Highway in search of perspectives as we drove towards the North Slope. The year previously, on this exact date, rainstorms ruled the day preventing a view of anything with a mountain. So on this particular morning, we enjoyed the peaceful, windless moment of soft light and blue skies. I pulled the Jeep to the side of the road, dawned my muck boots, and went for a short jaunt down to the lake's edge. After strolling through the bog, I stood for a few moments, soaking in the peaceful atmosphere, and captured this scene. Serenity.
