Window Through Time
"Windows Through Time." I used to call the Desert Southwest home and often yearned to go "outside" to take advantage of the many photographic opportunities. "Home" has since migrated to Alaska and the yearning to visit the desert is even stronger. Thankfully, I find myself in the desert a few times each year and 2024 was not an exception. During one visit, while exploring with my father, we came upon a lone arch. From a distance, knowing the sun was perfectly situated from my perspective, I immediately envisioned a reflective shot through the opening. As I approached the feature, I glanced through the opening and was greeted the magnificent light casting on each of the sandstone surfaces. I setup my tripod and took this single set of exposure-stacked photos. Having a relatively good understanding of the geologic history in the area, I admired the scene, like it was peering through a window through time.
