Summer Heat
Five of us hiked through Coyote Buttes to visit The Wave. Two left at that time, as originally planned, and three of us remained throughout the day, under intense summer heat, to see a glimpse of last light on The Second Wave. The year has been unique in that water was plentiful in this portion of the desert. This scene catches this rare situation, in that the foreground (left) is not a shadow, rather a large pool of water, captured inside the sandstone basin.
