Alberta Dawn
"Alberta Dawn." While traveling between Salt Lake City and Anchorage, I detoured through several national parks in Canada. While traveling through the early hours of the morning, I got tired, so did the smart thing by pulling over for a nap. Then a thought entered my mind, "I bet this is a great place for sunrise." So I did what any other photographer would do, and I checked for sunrise time. To my surprise, sunrise was forecast at at 4:30 AM! Ouch! So I set my alarm clock for just two hours in the future, and all too quickly the alarm was blaring. I made myself some breakfast, then setup the tripod just in time. Twilight was quickly fading, and gentle peaks on the mountaintops quickly cycled to hot pink. In that moment, I captured this three shot panorama. A beautiful Alberta dawn!
