Emerald Forest

"Emerald Forest." I walked solo into the forest, hearing only the sound of silence. The emerald forest floor was visible in all directions. I setup the shot to capture the gentle sun rays being cast through a slightly overcast sky. I setup for a single exposure, and captured this frame. Kodiak is the second largest island in the United States and is nicknamed Alaska's "Emerald Isle." The name is derived from the lush rainforest that covers the island, such as this scene.
