Road to Denali

"Road to Denali." In summer 2018 I visited Denali for a weeklong adventure into the backcountry. On this day, I followed the road to Denali, and captured this classic scene. The clouds appeared to dance on The Mountain, some 34 miles away. The snow was bright, the green meadows were vibrant, and Bear cubs played in the distant field below (not discernible in this scene). It is difficult for one to fathom the massiveness of The Mountain without seeing it in person. Denali is among the tallest mountains, from its visual base to summit it stretches up some 18,000 feet (5486m) up from the ground. Amazing Alaska!
